The Tree of Life is one of the oldest motifs in Persian weaving, and here it is drawn in the angular, geometric manner of the northwest rather than in flowing curves. Stylized branches spread across a bold red ground, framed by angular borders in ivory, sage, navy, and rust. Heriz weaving is known for exactly this squared-off drawing, a consequence of village looms and a coarser knot than a workshop would use. Hand-knotted in wool with a dense pile made for years of daily use.

Individually woven by skilled artisans, each rug is a truly one-of-a-kind piece. This authentic craftsmanship results in a distinct work of art built to last for generations.

Care Vacuum in both directions weekly to lift grit out of a dense pile. Rotate twice a year, especially in a living room where furniture stays in fixed positions, and blot spills before they reach the foundation.

Construction Hand-knotted in wool in the Indo Heriz tradition. The geometry of the drawing follows the grid of the weave itself, which is why Heriz motifs step rather than curve.

Story Behind the Art: Indo Heriz rugs, handwoven in India, are inspired by the traditional Heriz rugs of Iran, preserving their iconic design language and weaving techniques. These rugs embody the essence of Persian artistry, showcasing striking medallions, figural motifs, trees, niches, and allover floral patterns. Known for their bold geometry and monumental floral designs, Heriz rugs are easily recognized by their angular forms offering a distinct alternative to the curved motifs of other Persian styles. While medallion-centered compositions are most common, allover patterns are also frequently seen. Vibrant colors and strong, graphic elements contribute to their timeless appeal. Amid shifting global trade dynamics, India has become a leading and reliable source for high-quality Heriz-style rugs, continuing the legacy with exceptional craftsmanship.
