Sarouk rugs from central Iran are celebrated for their lush floral artistry, graceful medallion compositions, and richly saturated colors. Woven throughout the Arak and Farahan regions, these carpets became especially popular during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as demand for Persian rugs expanded internationally. Earlier Sarouk examples often featured intricate all over Herati and floral patterns, while later designs evolved into more spacious layouts with detached blossoms and elegant sprays floating across open fields. This softer and more decorative composition became one of the defining visual signatures of the Sarouk tradition. Rich crimson reds, navy blues, ivory, rose, coral, and gold tones dominate traditional Sarouk palettes, creating interiors filled with warmth and sophistication. Combining decorative versatility with refined Persian craftsmanship, Sarouk rugs remain among the most admired Oriental carpets in the world.
