Traditional weaving methods meet refined neutral styling in this transitional hand-knotted Peshawar rug. Set against a warm cream-beige background, the field shows an overall trellis of interlocking leafy vines, botanical arabesques, and soft brown palmette motifs. With no heavy frame border, the open-field layout gives the design a spacious look. Hand-knotted from high-grade natural wool over a sturdy cotton warp, the plush pile and trimmed fringe give this Peshawar wool rug reliable durability.

Individually woven by skilled artisans, each rug is a truly one-of-a-kind piece. This authentic craftsmanship results in a distinct work of art built to last for generations.

Construction: Hand-knotted from wool, selected for its resilience and its ability to hold rich color and definition across the pattern.

Care & Maintenance: Vacuum regularly using suction only, avoiding a rotating beater bar. Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth, and rotate the rug periodically to distribute wear evenly. Professional cleaning is recommended to keep the pile looking its best.

Story Behind the Art: Hand-knotted rugs are Pakistan's second-largest cottage and small industry that began as early as the 11th century under the Mughal rule. The craftsmen have the capacity to produce any type of rug using all the popular motifs of guls, medallions, paisleys (botehs), traceries, and geometric designs in various combinations. While the "stone washes" are used to fade and soften colors, the Peshawar style is characterized by a thinly sheered pile, large print designs, and most predominantly, their antique ivory and sometimes golden tones.
