Luminous jewel tones radiate across this hand-knotted Indo Kashan wool rug, where a sumptuous emerald green field provides dramatic contrast for a symmetrical garden of blooms. Coral-blush rosettes burst across the surface like radiant sunbursts, their warmth heightened by the deep green ground, while sage and olive vines weave organically through the composition. A subtle central medallion introduces focal balance, allowing the floral distribution to remain harmonious and evenly dispersed. The luminous cream border offers elegant contrast, richly detailed with coral, navy blue, and forest green florals that echo the interior palette while enhancing dimensional layering. Hand-knotted construction ensures precise definition and durability, reinforced by cotton foundation threads engineered for long-term performance. This emerald Persian area rug captures the spirit of classical Indo Kashan design while appealing to U.S. homeowners searching for bold green statement rugs and luxury wool medallion carpets. It is a timeless yet refreshingly modern interpretation of Persian tradition.

Story Behind the Art: Indo-Kashan rugs are a sophisticated Indian-made tribute to the legendary carpets of Kashan, Iran. While the originals date back to the 16th-century Safavid courts, the 'Indo' variety is crafted today in Indian weaving hubs like Jaipur and Bhadohi. They are widely regarded as some of the most classic looking rugs in the world, bringing a sense of royal history into modern homes. Most Indo-Kashan rugs follow the famous 'Medallion and Corner' (or Book-cover like) layout. They feature a central, diamond-shaped medallion surrounded by a field of densely packed floral vines, palmettes, and arabesques. You may also see the "Shah Abbas" field, an all-over floral pattern without a central medallion. These rugs are hand-knotted (approx. 150–250 knots per square inch) with a 100% wool pile on a cotton foundation. Higher-end versions often use premium New Zealand wool for a velvety sheen, sometimes incorporating silk highlights to make the floral patterns shimmer.
